megan_headshot-sm2Welcome, friends! On behalf of the Creating Keepsakes team, I’m delighted to share with you our new blog. We’re so excited to connect with you and talk scrapbooking.

For those of you who don’t know, I’m Megan Hoeppner, creative editor for CK. I’m thrilled to be joining my fellow CK editors in hosting this here blog. Together, we’ll bring you fresh project ideas, plenty of how-tos and techniques, product giveaways, and more. Much, much more!

Since meeting your needs is our number one goal, let’s kick things off with a question. What do you want to see most on this blog? Techniques? Projects? New product sneak peeks? Prizes, prizes and more prizes? Do tell. We’re all ears . . . errr, make that eyes.

Thanks, blog friends. We can’t wait to read your responses and get this blog going. Please, bring on those amazing ideas!

Cheers!
Megan

P.S. Here’s a little teaser of what’s to come. It starts with CHA and ends with our show highlights. Intrigued yet? We hope so. :)

  1. Looking forward to seeing what everyone suggests. :) I will say, that prizes are good. Very good. ;) I’d love to see a carryover from the “Fresh Faces” feature that I enjoyed in CK, and see new talents featured on the blog. Sneak peeks at tradeshow time are always fun too! Best of luck to you! I’ll be checking back often!

  2. I am looking forward to reading this new blog! While I am always interested in techniques, giveaways and contests, I would really love to read about your jobs and what’s going on behind the scenes. A kind of reality blog for the mag. I’d love to hear when new calls are up, when they’ve been filled… what other things are going on. I can’t wait to read!

  7. Megan,
First of all, I am thrilled about this blog!
To misquote the movie “Field of Dreams”…
If you write it…they will come :)
Prizes are always nice, but not the main reason to visit this blog
I, personally, loved all the weekly challenges the SS blog used to do.
Can’t wait to see what you have planned!

  8. i’m so excited about the new blog. i always love seeing fresh new pages and ideas… everything from layouts, to cards, to tags and beyond. also creative uses for your scrap supplies.

one of my favorite things about blog surfing is learning about new sites and products through a blog that i may not have found otherwise.

can’t wait to see what you guys do!

  9. I love that CK has a blog! Yeah! It would be great if it could be updated with new calls, updates when contributors have been contacted, fresh faces from the blog to the mag, and press releases to squash the rumor mill. Good luck!

  11. Megan,
Super blog. I follow several but do not comment often. Love the idea of techniques being offered. I am in the process of a scrapbook room redesign so when I am through (a couple more weeks) I will be raring and ready to go with scrapping.

  15. Just bookmarked this blog! So excited for all things scrapbooking. Now I don’t have to wait for a whole month just to get a dose of CK-ness all the way here in the Philippines.

Having contests available to international scrappers would be a nice change too…

I’d also love to see how supplies are organized. I can’t seem to get enough ideas on this topic.

  16. I’d love tutorials on different techniques or projects, unique and multiple ways to use products, spotlighting new products, contests or challenges, and I think everyone likes prizes and giveaways. :)

  17. Why is this separate from the CK website? Just curious, there’s spots over there for all the things you mention. Personally, I’d rather go to one place than many.

    Comment by lisa — 02/08/2009 #

  18. Congrats ladies!! Although websites definitely have their place, blogs are simply a little more relaxed and personal! Looking forward to checking it out and it was great getting to meet many of you at CHA over our “circle of friends” lunch! Allison Orthner
