It’s a happy day, indeed! The sun is shining. The temperature is a comfortable 60 degrees (and will be a beautiful 70 before the day is through). And the trees are in full bloom. I snapped this picture on my way into the office this morning. Mother Nature sure knows how to put on a show, doesn’t she?

For tips on how to capture spring in all of its stunning glory, check out our “How to Photography Spring Foliage” article by CK expert and photography pro Candice Stringham.
At last, it feels like spring. In the spirit of this amazing season and Earth Day (this Wednesday), I thought I’d share a few ideas for capturing the feeling of spring on your projects using basic scrapbooking supplies.
To create my Happy Day card (above), I used a combination of supplies and techniques. Two of my three trees are stamped. Using the Sheltering Tree stamp set from Gel-a-Tins, I stamped the same two trees in red, orange, blue, light green and dark green. I then trimmed and layered the stamped trees to create these blooming beauts. For additional dimension, I added pearl and bling blossoms.

Creating the middle tree was super simple. I took apart a two different Lollipop Flowers from Prima and reassembled the flowers to create a multi-colored bubble tree. I love these flowers. They’re great for brightening up any design.

Turn any scrap of patterned paper into a fun and funky tree using shaped punches like this one from Marvy Uchida.

Check out what sassy Cindy Tobey did with circle punches, some buttons, a little felt and some brads. This page is taken from the “Tips & Tricks” column of our April 2009 issue. Very inspiring!

As I mentioned above, stamps are a quick and easy way to create a tree. If you have a Creating Keepsakes Convention coming to a town near you (click here for dates and locations), I highly recommend you take our “One Stamp Set Ten Techniques” class, where you’ll make this striking page (designed by Wendy Sue Anderson) among other adorable projects.

Notice how she has turned her stamped tree (created with a super cute Hero Arts stamp set) into a springtime bloomer with bitty flowers and brads. Awesome!

So, are you inspired to bring a little spring to your projects? If so, I have the giveaway for you. I’m giving away a bucket full of goodies, including:
- The Spin Cycle circle stamp set from Gel-a-Tins

The way I add spring is by adding the bling! I love putting rhinestones on the petals of my flowers! Thanks for the spring time inspiration!
I love making the stems of my flowers pop with some glitter!
Totally love the new prima lollipops, so much pretty spring color!! Thank you for the inspiration.
I love those trees, I’ve got to start making some of these for my pages and cards!
Ahh…spring! I add spring to my pages with bright, fun colors, flowers and whatever make me happy at the moment.
The circle-punch/button tree is adorable. This could work for many different themes, too, not just spring.
Having a little boy limits the amount of frills I can use on his pages. If I had my druthers, I’d chose 3-D flowers and sequins. But I refrain and am satisfied with bright colors to exemplify spring.
Spring means Easter pictures and Easter colors, then pictures of my garden with lots of green!
The best way to add ‘spring’…PINK! For some reason, if I add pink to a design it instantly feels more springy. Also, little birds. Something about a little bird in the corner means warmer weather.
adding ribbon, ribbon for me is means Spring!

I love adding neon colors! The brightness just makes me so happy!
I like to add a little dot of Stickles to the center of a small fabric flower. It adds that perfect little sparkle to any Spring page—especially orange Stickles on a pale yellow flower! My fave!
Flowers and all sorts of bright and happy colors.
I love using flowers, bling, and birds to give my pages that spring feeling. I also like using fun spring pastels in either cardstock or patterned paper.

I bring out all the fun & bright colors for Spring! And I love using green this time of year! Reminds me of the trees and grass:)
I add bright colors… .. I think my journalling and lines looks more “wave-y” like water.
Definitely lots of bright, pretty flowered items, including floral and bird pp’s. And I like to add stickles to my embellishments as well to give them that extra pop of color. Because to me,it gives my projects a prettier new added look and makes them come alive like spring!
What great inspiration, love all the flowers and colors…spring is here!!!
My tulips are blooming which means spring is finally here!

I scrapbook mostly for my son, so in the spring, I feel like I can take the liberty of sneaking a few flowers (plus a few sparkly gemstones) onto his layouts! I can’t wait to try out the tree!!
color… suddenly, bright and happy shades speak to me!
For me, I think it is mostly color (pinks, yellows, greens) and of course flowers!

I love using ribbon!! There are so many colors to choose from and you can use them to make so many different things!!
Flowers, flowers, flowers!! Stamped, punched, paper or fabric – any kind will do! I love to use gems, buttons or brads for the centers.

I love to use flowers, especially with buttons as a centre.
Thanks for the chance to win!
I would love to get the bucket of goodies to use on my spring layouts. I just love all of the pretty colors…can’t wait to find out if I get them.
I still am stuck on stickers. I have been scrapbooking for a while, way back to when there was only stickers for accents. So I like to use flowers, butterflies, and even bird stickers to accent the spring pages. I am slowly turning over to all of the new embellishments.
Thank you, Pam
Fun stuff. I love the tree ideas!
Yeah!! I’ve been taking tons of spring pictures. I’m ready for some scrappy goodies!!
It’s the perfect Spring day here in Seattle so I am in the mood for this. Thanks for the info! For me, I think adding flowers of all shapes, sizes and color are perfect for Spring. And now I have some fun new ideas with this post and the Jennifer McGuire one as well!
To me bright soft pastel colors just say spring. Mint greens, soft pinks and sunny yellows all signify spring and are the colors I use when creating springy look. Add a bunny or bird peeking out from the flowers and you are good to go.
Since I just make cards–I like to use the Blossoms and Butterflies Glitter Stack along with some bright colored ribbon and flower gems.
I love to add flowers to my layout for spring! Birds also do the trick for me! A tiny new bird is the ultimate symbol of spring. New life! Wonderful!
I like adding hand-cut layered flowers or punched butterflies to my pages and cards to give them a springy feel.
