Today, I’ve been thinking about how extremely grateful I am for soldiers. They give up so much, including time with their families (see the layout by Noel Culbertson below), so the rest of us don’t have to. They serve.
I can’t help but think of the men and women who have served in the conflicts during our lifetime. In particular, I’m thinking about the father of my sister-in-law, who lost both his legs in Vietnam. I’m sure that’s not what he thought he was signing up for in his tour of duty. But he’s proud of his service, and he has passed that pride down to his children.
Whether you know someone personally who has served his or her country in the military, take a moment to be grateful for the men and women who voluntarily serve or have served. Without them, life would be different for us today.

Much love and appreciation to veterans of today and yesteryear, especially remembering those today who have given the ultimate sacrifice, their lives. Prayers to the families of all servicemen and servicewomen who are missing their loved ones.
