CHA 2010: Demos of New Tools Released

CHA 2010: Demos of New Tools ReleasedI’m always on the lookout for tools that help complete tasks in easier, quicker ways. That’s why I love all the tools released at CHA each year. This year’s tools did not disappoint. I checked out the latest releases and recorded several tool demos for you to enjoy.

The Imagepac Stampmaker from Photocentric allows you to create your own stamps, stencils, or embossing templates.

The Distrezz-it-All from Zutter Innovative Products is fabulous for distressing edges in a jiffy. I love that you can distress the edges of a small mini book all at once—it means the edges of all the pages will line up precisely for great presentation.

The Zutter Kutter from Zutter Innovative Products provides an incredibly clean cut through thick materials like book board.

The Brad Setting Tool from We R Memory Keepers simplifies the process for setting brads. I love that brad prongs won’t catch the skin under my fingers anymore.

The Cinch from We R Memory Keepers makes it easy to bind your own mini albums or mini books.

The Presto Punch from Spellbinders is also a fun tool for cutting shapes from paper or cardstock. Unfortunately, the sound quality on my video wasn’t the greatest. To check out the tool in another video on YouTube, click here.

The Chip Art tools by Melody Ross for GCD Studios let you create design impressions in chipboard. In this video, you’ll see how the tool is used to make an impression in a GCD Studios jewelry pendant kit to create a custom necklace. You can also use the tools to alter any chipboard products you have at home.

  12. Ruth DeClercq says:

The Presto punch would be my choice for a new tool. I like the portability of the Presto, the plug-in or battery options and of course the dies. I am hoping that some of the existing Spellbinders dies are compatible with this punch.

  21. Patty says:

The Cinch! OMG, its exactly what I’ve been looking for. I remember using something very much like that when I worked civil service and we prepared briefing packets. I had been thinking about checking my local office supply stores for something like it. I remember the one we used had plastic instead of wire. I prefer the wire much more!!! Oh, I’m so excited (as the old song goes)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  22. Pamela J says:

my favorite is the brad setting tool – i’m tired of the brads poking me under my fingernails

  24. Deborah M says:

I think the Cinch has a lot of great improvements over the Bind-it-all. Looking forward to seeing that in person!

Love that Cinch. It looks so much easier than the bind it all.

  26. Sue Walsh says:

  30. Alessandra C says:

This is a toughy! I absolutely love and want all of them. But if I had to pick just 1, it would be the Cinch. Collecting journals is way fun, but making them myself would be even better :) Thanks for a great giveaway!

  35. Jenny McGee says:

I like the We R Memory Keeper items, the Cinch and the Brad tool. The stamped image maker was kind of cool too. Thanks for a chance to win.

  36. Jann says:

The Presto Punch has my vote. From what I see of it(on youtube), it will suit 75% of my needs.

The noise is something to live with, the variety of dies and the adapter for plugging are big pluses as well

I am considering buying one as soon as it hits the stores and webstores I frequent, but I also have a feeling they will be coiing out with the abiltiy to do bigger punches (ie. 3″ circles and labels, etc) so might wait.

The price is a bit hefty, but the dies are cheap enough to balance it out.

Question: will the spellbinders sies fit in it?

Great idea for those of us lacking the strength to use regular pinches

    Jann

  37. Ramona P says:

Very hard to choose. But I love using brads, so I will have to say that I am most interested in the brad setter.

  38. Definitely the Distrezz it all!

  39. okay, i NEED the cinch!!!!

  40. Mary Morris says:

Wow! I love the Cinch by WRMK! It is really great with the clip over, so it locks it to place and can be carried to crops. I could spend days making little books with this! Cheers, Mary

  41. Jan says:

The zutter distresser tool looks awesome, I wouldnt mind giving that a try.

  42. Leslie says:

Hi, everything from CHA is so exciting. So much to look forward to.

  43. Leslie says:

  48. jo ann k delery says:

I am very intrigues with the distrezz it tool. I spend allot of time distressing with various distressing techniques, and this hand tool would make quick work of all my distressing projects. Yes, it’s my favorite. Since you didn’t ask for second and third I will not say. Ah, why not, I like the cinch tool and the Brad Setter too!!

  49. Anna says:

I want to get hold of the Tim Holtz Alterations Dies especially the edge dies. I have always wanted something like that. Oh I am so excited !

  50. I think the Chip Art tool is unique, and I thought the brad setter was a silly tool UNTIL I saw the video. I like that the piercer is on the setter, too. Cool idea.
