- Isn’t the article design for the “Branches on Our Family Tree” article fun? It’s a favorite of CK designer Neko Carrillo. She says, “The design team had fun coming up with goofy family members for our family tree opener and a great time watching Nicole LaRue sketch each one.”
- Want to know where the idea for the “No Photo? No Problem?” article came from? Readers like you! Jennafer Martin says, “We got letters and suggestions on our Facebook fan page for an article with solutions for those times when you don’t have the right photo but want to scrapbook anyway, and this is the result. Thanks to Dream Team member Deena Wuest who took on the task of writing this article!”
- Betcha can’t tell, but Megan Hoeppner’s “Sew Sweet” layout in the “Latest & Greatest” column on page 47 was actually created with product prototypes from My Little Yellow Bicycle, as the finished products weren’t yet available. They’re available now, check them out here.

- The hands shown in the step-by-step shots on page 52 are actually Kim Watson’s talented hands. Ordinarily, we shoot hand shots in our studio, but since she’s on another continent, she went ahead and did these for us. Didn’t she do a fantastic job?
- The day our team went out to Margie Romney-Aslett’s home to shoot this month’s creative space (page 56), there was a terrible snow storm. Miraculously, we still got the shots and everything went off without a hitch.
- This was the first issue of the magazine that Kim Jackson worked on. She says, Oh, man, what a ride! I started the week before Christmas, and dove right in to writing my first column. I was sitting here in a half-organized cubicle—aka, Fort Product—trying to make decisions on what amazing CHA sneak-peek products to feature in the Latest & Greatest column. I loved it all! It was pretty surreal.” We’re so glad to have Kim on the team! Check out her product picks on page 47 of the May/June issue.
- Do you relate to Deena’s Wuest’s layout “Before Kids/After Kids”? Dorathy Gilchrist does. She says, “Deena’s layout is a hilarious because it’s true! Her design really reflects the pace and tone of life before and after having kids.”

No doubt about it- my favorite thing is Deena Wuest’s “Before Kids / After Kids.” It is not only gorgeous, but so so true.
ANYthing by Deena Wuest is my favorite! I can really relate to the real life things she talks about in her pages and I also love her color choices/designs!! Go, Deena!
I really like seeing the craft spaces of others, get alot of storage ideas. also love Deena’s layout, hilarious!
I loved Jennifer’s flower accents, especially the tissue paper flower.
Hard to choose between these two for me: the one about recording down family memories and the one about doing pages without the photo.
Since I love to sew perhaps my favorite would be Kim Watson showing how to do the fabric strips on a page. But I loved it all.
My favorite was Jennifer McGuire’s article on making flowers. So innovative!
I loved the fabulous flower techniques. I’m new to making my own embellishments and found this to be very helpful!

I love the 15 minute layout column at the end of the magazine! I’m always so inspired by the magazine and having this article as the last page feels like CK is saying “Go forth and scrap!”
I love Deena’s Wuest’s layout “Before Kids/After Kids”… it’s so true esp. when you have 4 kids to manage!
Sadly my magazine still has NOT been delivered!! Very frustrating since it’s been in the stores here for over a week. Definitely makes me reconsider renewing my subscription.
This month’s creative space is AMAZING. Seriously, could I be more jealous?

I have a hard time finishing the magazine before peeking at the 15-minute layout at the very back. This is a great feature.

I have to say this issue was different in so many ways … graphics really popped! My favorite (or what struck a chord with me) was the Before Kids/After Kids layout. I HAVE to do one!

I am always a big fan of seeing other people’s creative space. I love to see where and how they store all the little things and I love to see the color on the walls. Coordination at its best!

I loved the no photos article. In fact it also got me to document a recent triggered memory of my childhood so I can share it with future generations. I selected relevant photos from the internet to help tell my story.
I love making flowers so that was the very first article I turned to!

I am working on organizing my new scrap room, so I always like seeing other people’s spaces.
My favorite thing is Deena Wuest’s “Before Kids / After Kids,” but in our case I’d need to add an “Empty Nesters” layout after this one.
Love the “no photos, no problem” section. It gave me the idea to ask my kids to tell me some special things about my husband and I. I am in the process of creating a photo book and I will dedicate a page to their comments.

The making flowers article was my favorite.
I love seeing the craft spaces of others. Always gives me ideas! But I think my favorite is seeing all the paper clips my moms puts on my copy of layouts/things she likes. I see a subscription in her future!
I really like the sewing techniques along with ideas for organization. My scrapbook room overfloweth!
My fave was the No Photo, No problem. As I have events I would love to scrapbook, tell the story but dont have pics of. So thanks for this great article!
