It’s Maggie Holmes, and I’ve been dying to share some necklaces I have been creating with the Making Memories Vintage Findings Line! I wasn’t sure about it at first because I am new to the whole craft of making jewelry! Well, let me restate that: I was absolutely sure I loved the pieces and all of the elements you can use, but I wasn’t sure if I would be good at it or if I would like it. But you know what, it really is pretty easy! The hardest part for me is just deciding which pieces to use! I can sit near my collection, staring at each piece for hours! I pick up the pieces and look at them, and I can hardly bring myself to make a decision because it’s like picking a favorite child! You just can’t pick! icon smile Guest Blogger: Creating Keepsakes Dream Team Member, Maggie Holmes

Anyway, once you’re finally able to pick the items you want to use, it’s honestly so easy! And I have really enjoyed it! I think that as scrapbookers we all really enjoy the actual process of using our hands and being creative, and this is simply another outlet for that! Today I am sharing a couple necklaces I made for my little three-year-old girl. You can modify the chains to make them any length you want, and that’s what I did here—just made them smaller so they would fit her.

On the necklace above, I used a basic chain and then added the smaller strand of beads underneath it. Then I attached the flower element and hung the leaves over on the side where the chain and the beads meet. Pretty simple, and yet I think it looks like something you would find in a high-end boutique!

This one is a little different and took more time because I wanted to see what I could come up with on my own. I literally made the chain on this one from scratch! For the front part of the chain, I simply linked a bunch of jump rings together, and then I added two leaves on each side in the back. In the front, I combined the main butterfly element with a few smaller ones to finish it off.

You can find more info on the Vintage Findings Jewelry line on the Making Memories jewelry site! If you haven’t tried making your own jewelry, you should! I bet you will like it!!

I just wanted to let you know that I’d loved your Butterfly Necklace very much.. How much do you charge. I’m going to be at the Charlotte CKC Scrapbook Convention for Classes. Do you sell your supplies there at all? I was just wondering seeing how I’ll be there too. If not let me know by my email. swtsoftpetals7@yahoo.com
