I’d ask the designers if they use a Mac ;o)
If I had to ask one person or company a question, it would be.. What is the greatest part of your job and do they ever find it challenging to stay up with the trends?
I’d ask Elizabeth Karthner how her life has changed since she got involved in the scrapbooking industry?
I would ask Elizabeth Kartchner if she could only design a page with 4 products/items, what would they be.
I would ask each company/designer if I could be one to help test their products.
I would ask Tim Holtz what inspires him and how he comes up with all of his ideas?
I would ask: how long does it take from time of design of a collection until final product?
I always wonder…..how does it go from an idea into full fledged production of an item. What are all the steps. Not really papers, but the rest of the stuff.
I’d ask ALL the companies how many of their products are made in the US. I’d really like to support more companies that support US jobs.
I would ask Tim Holtz how on earth he comes up with all of his amazing ideas!
I would ask them how much money they save manufacturing heavy paper in China. Is the wood or materials for paper really that much cheaper??? I don’t get how the manufacturing costs for an item like that could be so much less when you have to transport it back over here and it doesn’t take very many people/labor to create it.
SO many questions to ask! I would ask any designer if they ever sleep!
I love Japanese paper designs and would like to ask Anna Griffin (or any similar graphic artist)if they are ever going to design an Asian-based paper line. There seems to be more and more Asian-inspired stamps, but, aside from Origami paper, there is a lack of paper products to go with the theme.
I’d ask Elizabeth Kartchner how she finds time to design and craft such beautiful products and pages and if she is going to do some boyish products?
I love to know where companies get their inspiration from for each of their lines!
I would ask what their predictions for upcoming trends/themes would be.
I would like to ask Lisa Bearnson some parenting tips—her kids just seem like the most well mannered and caring kids–always considerate of others.
I would ask Stacy Julian if she would come over and help me organize my scrap stash by color.
With no particular company in mind..I would ask how to get a job with a scrapbooking company. That would be the most awesome career ever!! Or to at least test out there new products!!
I would ask My Minds Eye how they continually come up with product lines that I absolutely love!
For Provo Craft and more specifically Cricut: Why doesn’t cricut.com have a library of .pdf files showing pictures of what each cartridge can cut, so that us cricuteers can print the pages for the cartridges that we have and create a reference binder? The .pdf file should have good quality pictures on it. I have 61 cartridges and I would like to make a gallery of all my choices.
I would like to ask Fancy Pants: Whatever do you do with all the older product that you still have hanging around? Do you keep storing it like I do,because you just can’t part with it?
I would like to ask all the companies how far in advance do they have to design/send off to have the paper/embellisments made? Where are most of the materials made? China? Do they have one plant specifically for this production? Are any young children involved?
I’d like to ask the people at CK why there isn’t a design class at CKC for those of us who digi-scrap. I’d like to suggest a “tips and tricks” class for PSE.
I would love to ask how smaller, newer companies got started.
I’d ask Ali Edwards to adopt me long-distance and teach me everything she knows!
I love Stacy Julian. I just got her Photo Freedom book at a CK Convention. I would love to just sit in her creative scrapbooking studio and chat about her whole concept and system of memory keeping. I love it.
I would like to ask any company how long it takes to go from design idea to actual production. To keep up with the many trends, you really have to be on top of things. How fast can you get your ideas out to the marketplace?
Hmmm. I guess I would ask the Spellbinders people when were they going to come out with some cloud dies. I really think that clouds would be a popular die, especially as a Nesty. We could make so many clouds in various sizes. That would be sweet!
I guess it would be fun to hear how ALL of them stay inspired, and continue to bring us fresh, fun, NEEDED goodies continually!
If someone has a sb want that they can’t seem to find who would we go to at their particular companies to ask for ist.
I would love to talk with the creative minds behind Little Yellow Bicycle. Love their stuff!
I would ask Tim Holtz if he needed a lowly studio assistant…what a way to learn
I would love to ask Jenni Bowlin if she still finds the same joy in creating that she did when she was first starting out.
I would ask Tim Holtz what inspires him to come up with a new product line.
I’d ask all of the major design companies to do more “guy” lines or even better, gender-neutral. I just got back from CKC and while I had a great time, SO many of the class projects were covered in flowers, pastels and especially pink. While there were masculine papers and accessories available, few classes featured them so they don’t seem to be an item the big companies want to focus on. I’d love to do more pages that are gender-neutral so my friends with girls and me with my boy could work on the same projects together.
My question would be–how do you find your designers? Cuz I’d love to be in that group!!
I would ask any company how they stay on trend? Do they wait for something to catch their eye from fashion or home decor or do they try to start a trend themselves?
I would love to ask Julie at Cosmo Cricket how she comes up with her fantastic designs of their new lines.
I don’t have a specific company in mind but I would love to know how some designs get chosen and others are rejected and who makes the call.
I would ask Cosmo Cricket if they would open an office in Virginia and hire me to play with their product all day long!
not sure if my 1st post went, so here i will post again. I would love to speak with a desinger from Making Memories. who is behind the the new Je t’Adore line??? and the Slice is an awsome product (dont have it, but I’ve seen it in action). Where did the idea come from??
I’ve been really inspired by Crate Paper. I’d love to know where their inspiration comes from. Their lines are a breath of fresh air.
I would ask any paper company how they decide on color combinations. Some are awesome and match my photos so well. Thanks!
I would love to know where the designers get their inspiration!
I would ask any company, how I could become a product tester.
Do you have coupons for your products?
I’d love to ask stamp makers this question: Why is there only one of each letter in an alpha set? Most words I use (or would like to use) need more than one “a, e, o, r, s, l” etc. yet there is one of each letter.? Stickers add extra letters, why not stamp makers? Just a thought!!
I would ask any company how they go from a first draft to a finished line. Where do they start (with papers? an element? a specific image? a color scheme?) – what happens next – how many papers are created? How do they go from a paper draft to the finished patterned cardstock? I’m interested in the complete process!
I would ask them where they get their creative inspiration from. Thanks for the chance to win CHA goodies!
