Hello! I am Kim Hughes, owner of Paper Smooches stamps and I am thrilled to join you today.
It seemed like I sanded all of my papers for a while and then gradually moved into a clean cut style. I missed that subtle, grungy technique, so I decided to bring out my bone folder for old time’s sake and share a page that I created using my Scor-Pal and sand block.
I was inspired to use a stamp set that will be released on July 1. You are getting the first peek. (grin) I love tweed and lined patterns, so I duplicated that look with a simple distress technique. You can easily add texture to die cuts, paper and stickers.
Plan your background and turn it over onto a Scor-Pal. Press the bone folder into the grooves, turn over and lightly sand. I clean my stamps with baby wipes. When they are dry, they make excellent dust towels since they don’t fall apart (love that!)
I added some Paper Smooches stamps to the title to help my theme come to life. I paper pieced the ice cream flavors (I stamped, fussy cut and added them to a card stock cone (the cone also has sanded lines, like the layout background)
I decided to make use of my scraps and make a card.
Our Pep rally week officially starts tomorrow (June 24) at the Paper Smooches blog. Our design team will share their amazing creations with you during our blog hop that is scheduled for June 30th, using our July stamp release. . .and offer a prize! Please take a peek!
I’d like to offer you a prize here as well. I am giving away the NEW “Sugar Rush” stamp set that I used on today’s page and card. Between now and June 30, three winners will be randomly chosen from the comments on this blog post to receive one of these sets. We all have “sweet kids” right?
