Trend Talk: Botanical and Nature Prints

M: Over Memorial Day weekend, my garden was on my mind and I happened upon these adorable seed packets from Botanical Interests. Not only will they make my summer garden beautiful, I can also use the packets on my scrapbook pages. They’re works of art!

L: Function meets fashion—love it! If you’re feeling particularly ambitious, you could even put those great images into a necklace like this one from SpiffyCool on Etsy.com.

M: What a fun idea—I may have to do that! Etsy is a hot spot for this trend. This colorful bird on book paper by RoccocoCo caught my eye. It would look amazing on any paper project or as a standalone work of art.

L: He’s a looker! The addition of the text print really amplifies this trend. For a more modern take, check out this nature photograph by Lupen Grainne at Etsy, but also be sure to check out the blog for more inspiring images.

M: This look is Mother Nature at her finest. Few things inspire creativity the way the great outdoors can, which is why I love seeing this trend in scrapbooking. What do you say we make the day and inspire a lucky blog reader by giving away the botanical products featured on page 22 of the May/June 2011 issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine?

L: Absolutely! Just leave us a comment by June 15 to win the Brenda Walton Flora and Fauna Collection and some botanical-themed fabric from Wilmington Prints. In the meantime, get out there and soak up some vitamin D!

Love the botanicals. The parrot reminds me of a package of coffee I once found in a hotel room that came home with me and became a card.

Great inspiration. The vibrant parrot against the black & white background looks great and have so many ideas on how to incorporate this look while paper crafting! Nature photos are always beautiful.

I’m all for flowers and girly things but sometimes botanical is over the top. But the more and more I see of it the more and more I want to have. I have a garden this year for the first time and the colors of the flowers are really inspiring me to create!
