CK editors Lori Fairbanks and Megan Hoeppner discuss Honeysuckle, Pantone’s 2011 color of the year.
M: That pink so reminds me of my Barbie Dream House! Speaking of dream houses, here’s a grown-up version (found at FabSugar.com) that I adore—when can we move in?
L: Now that’s a lot of pink! It looks fantastic, but I think I need to work my way up to that. However, it would sure be easy to dip a baby toe in the pink pool with this lamp from LampsPlus.com!
M: Bright idea, Lori! I’m all for baby steps. I think I’ll start in the kitchen with this KitchenAid mixer. Perhaps my baking skills will even improve with this inspiring me!
L: That’s a great idea. Hey, for my birthday, want to whip me up a pink cake? Something like this (found at BeautifulandBright.blogspot.com ) would be grand!
M: Let’s not get carried away, Lori. I can barely do cupcakes, but I suppose it’s something to strive for! If my baking isn’t up to snuff by the time your birthday rolls around, I’ll make up for it with a fabulous gift. I can just see you strutting around Salt Lake City in these sassy WetSeal pumps.
L: LOL Cupcakes would be just fine. Though I’m tempted to pick up this cute Etsy.com bracelet. Ooh la la!
M: Wow! Just picture that fantastic bracelet with those look-at-me shoes and a little black dress—just as Kim Jackson’s cute layout suggests, you would really paint the town pink.
Paint the Town Pink by Kim Jackson, as seen in the July/August 2011 issue of Creating Keepsakes.
L. Pantone sure hit it out of the park with this one. I can’t wait to see what color we’ll be ooh-ing and ahh-ing about next year. Any predictions? How about you, our blog-reading friends—what color would you like to see as the color of the year for 2012?

I am a pink girl… so I always vote for PINK..
It is just an awesome color…
well I have been seeing a lot of harvest gold so my money would be on that. but I love turquoise or pink myself
Loving the honeysuckle. I actually just bought a purse in this color.
I love that color. That bracelet is awesome.
I had to put my sunglasses on to read this post! I’m betting on yellow….
Being the only girl in the family, I’m appreciating pink a whole lot more than I did when I was younger. And this is a beautiful shade! Bring on the PINK!
I love the pink shades but anything orange is my favorite.
