  • Mini albums.

Plus, this special issue includes the ultimate scrapbooker’s guide to sewing, notions, and fabric—a get-started guide filled with inspiring layouts and ideas that will have you looking at the sewing store in a whole new way. Here’s just a taste of some of the fun things we discovered while putting together Scrapbooking with Fabric & Notions.

Inside Peek #1

Piradee Talvanna kicked things off with her gorgeous, totally scrapliftable cover layout. Aren’t those delicious colors and patterns from Lily Bee Design just perfect for this time of year? She showed us that any page can benefit from a dash of cozy, sewing-inspired goodness with her use of a Maya Road straight pin and darling wooden spool (appropriately wrapped with The Twinery baker’s twine), as well as a unique crocheted doily from Sweet Vintage.

Inside Peek #2

At the start of each chapter in Scrapbooking with Fabric & Notions, you’ll get a hint of color and design that gives you a glimpse at the cool things you’ll be learning on the following pages. Cindy Tobey went the distance and created 12″ x 12″ sheets of accents, backgrounds, and titles using techniques from the issue for us to photograph! Here’s a full look at the designs she created that really set the tone for each chapter.

Chapter 4: Backgrounds & Borders by Cindy Tobey, as seen in Scrapbooking with Fabric & Notions, page 49.

Here, Cindy used a modified mitered corner technique to get crisp corners for her trim borders. Learn how with Wendy Sue Anderson’s online tutorial!

Accent ChapterChapter 5: Accents by Cindy Tobey as seen in Scrapbooking with Fabric & Notions, page 73.

Here, Cindy used premade accents and layered loads of fabric, tulle, and felt to create her stunning fabric flowers.

Chapter 6: Titles & Journaling by Cindy Tobey, as seen in Scrapbooking with Fabric & Notions, page 97.

Here, Cindy used two different techniques! You’ll see these fun journaling and title ideas featured on layouts by Jing-Jing Nickel and Emily Falconbridge.

Inside Peek #3

We had a fantastic time researching quilt patterns that can add serious flair to scrapbook page backgrounds: Susan Weinroth inspired us by creating her out-of-this-world Log Cabin quilt background.

We loved this idea so much, that Deena Wuest created SVG files to help you cut out your own quilt backgrounds for scrapbook pages from patterned paper or fabric using your electronic die-cutting machines. Download them for free at creatingkeepsakes.com!
