CHA Trends and 2 Giveaways!

CHA stands for Craft & Hobby Association, but for the purposes of this post, it stands for Cool Happenings in Art. Why? Because we’re going to discuss five hot trends found at this, the year’s most anticipated crafting tradeshow.

Trend #1: 6″x6″ Paper Pads
These may be the little sister to the traditional 12″x12″ scrapbook paper, but they’re making a big impression. Just about every paper manufacturer had them in their lines. Use them on layouts, cards, and other paper projects.

Trend #2: Flags
I like to think of this as two hot trends of seasons past coming together–decorative pins and banners! These bitty embellishments were waving proudly at many CHA booths. How will you use them in your crafting?

Trend #3: Envelopes
This accent signs, seals, and delivers cute! You won’t need a letter opener to discover their creative possibilities. Use them to contain journaling, memorabilia, small photos, and more. Or string them up for a happy Valentine’s Day decoration.

Lots of wonderful new creative goodies for my projects. Love the tickets, flags and the beautiful new packs of paper. WOW new stuff!!!

  4. beatriz_souza says:

I have somehow used all but burlap on older projects — but i’ll give it try by using xerox copies or scanned images.

  5. Carrie Stedt says:

Love the Flags!! They work for adding a fun, ‘festive feel’ with both cards & layouts for all occasions;)

  6. Paula Moses says:

Looks like I’ll have plenty of new products to choose from!

  7. JulieAnn Turner says:

LOVE the flags- for sure they would be great for cupcakes, but I’d use them on cards, i.e. a cute animal waving a flag with a birthday wish?

  8. bev burton says:

    love, love, love it all!

  9. AmandaPanda says:

I like the burlap. Also, i like how most of these trends are easy to create with just plain ole paper. I’m on the spending freeze, but I have PLENTY of patterned and solid paper to create little flags and envelopes with! I think I might use envelopes on a page about my dear friend in America who still writes to me using ONLY snail mail. :)

  10. Belinda says:

I love the flags! They are great to use on so many things including cards, scrapbook pages, handmade books and cupcakes.

  11. connie tacazon says:

I love the 6×6 paper pads for minibooks. Perfect!

  12. Shanon Gibson says:

I love the flags! They are so cute and popping up everywhere!

  13. I love the tickets the best. I won’t have any trouble at all using them. I’ll give the envelopes a try. I always have trouble figuring out how to leave access to the contents of the envelope through a page protector. Maybe you could do an article on that?

  14. Gloria Church says:

Oooo… I love new ways to embellish scrapbook pages. I love how they are adding color to the tickets and changing the shapes. The flags are fabulous and would work great in clusters. The burlap adds great texture and dimension and the envelopes will be great for collecting hidden journaling and memorabilia. Thanks for sharing the trends!

  15. Gail B. says:

Love the all the tickets being shown. They remind me of all the on-the-go things they can be used for.

  16. Karen Battermann says:

Love the all, maybe not the burlap so much. Spent 50 years sewing and like paper better right now. Then again the guys motorcycle pages may like burlap.

  17. Derv says:

Ohhh, I see myself using the flags, tickets and 6×6 pads more than anything, but I can be easily convinced into trying new things!

  18. Gai2545 says:

Love them all, especially the ballon, flags and envelops. I can make a dream of travelling with my grandkids from those. The flags will determine the destinations where we love to go. What’s a wonderful memory..

  19. Sherri says:

I am so excited about all the new stuff and I love making 6 x 6 and 8×8 scrap pages.

  21. Sarah Romano says:

I just came back from a scrap weekend with friends and used an envelope decorated with rub-ons and 6×6 paper pads for making pinwheels, and flags for banners, thanks, Sarah
