Do you ever finish a scrapbook layout only to realize your title, made up of letter stickers, is crooked? And not purposefully so. Yes, it happens to all of us. All the time!
Sometimes you want a fun, playful title with letters going up and down.
But sometimes you don’t. So here’s a quick way to get your title lined up straight!
Draw a line in pencil (do it very lightly) slightly below where you want your title.
Use a see-through ruler and lightly stick the lower part of your letter stickers onto the ruler’s edge. I use the millimeter marks as the baseline for my letters. Let the upper portion of the letters stick out the top. (By the way, I stole this ruler from my kids. Don’t tell them that.)
Make sure to position letters g, j, p, q, y (and sometimes f) accordingly, which is having the descender below the baseline. (The descender is the part that sticks out at the bottom of those letters.)
Once you like the look of your title, position the ruler with the stickers above the line you drew. The key here is to not have the stickers land on your pencil line, so it’s easy to erase later. I use the half-centimeter marks to line up with my pencil line.
Stick the exposed portions of the stickers down on your layout, and very carefully remove the ruler. Adhere the bottom portion of the stickers, erase the pencil line, and you are done!

PS: If you happen to have a small T-square, skip the pencil line, and stick your letter stickers to it instead of a regular ruler!
