Creativity Heals: Healing Others with Our Creations

Hello, CK blog readers! Last month in my Creativity Heals blog post, I talked about how creativity can heal our souls when we are going through tough times. This month, I wanted to talk a little about how we can heal others with our creations.

I have a friend who is going through a really hard time right now. She walks on the beach each night to watch the sunset and clear her mind. I thought it would be nice to create a wall piece for her with pictures of the sunset she sees as she walks each night.

I made a 12″x 12″ layout that can be framed to hang on a wall or sit on a mantle. I know it will brighten her home and hopefully help lift her mood! In the cluster on the top left, I added some little reminders about how to stay positive daily.

Last Thanksgiving, my father was in the hospital and could not spend the day with us. We made decorations for his hospital wall and took him Thanksgiving dinner so we could still spend some time together as a family. I know it brightened his day and helped us make the best of a difficult situation.

A great way to cheer others up is to send a homemade card. Cards don’t only have to be for special occasions; try making one that just says hello or reminds someone to smile. Cards are quick to make and a great way to use up extra supplies. And who doesn’t enjoy getting a little cheer in the mail with the bills?

Remember to use your creative talents to bring light and happiness to those around you as they are struggling with life’s challenges. It might be just what they need to get through a dark time and feel the love they need! Have a great weekend!

This is a wonderful idea, thank you, and thank you for your inspiring and thought=provoking blog, revealing of who you are and reaching out to others…i am sooo enjoying the Thanks Living project…am doing a mini album, have painted the background pages white and every month ink colours according to mood, I have used mainly single words, anecdotes, songs …january-family; february-rain (Listen to the Pouring Rain); march may be inspired by good and wise men…The Wise Man built his House upon the Rock?…ah, my title may well be Rock…mmm, can already think of quite a few words…the best, of course is time taken to think about what we have to be thankful for…even in tough times…thank you.

I thought this was a really wonderful post. The frame was so beautiful and the idea behind it was a wonderful one, and I love the idea of scrapbooking all of the times in your life, good and not-so-good. Great reminders! Thank you for sharing!
