Spring is a great time to make your own flowers to dress up any layout, card, or mini album. Use felt to add fabulous texture and dimension and to create beautiful flowers that never fray. Follow these easy step-by-step directions to learn how to create your own fun felt flowers.

Felt flower by Sara Brunson. Supplies: Felt, embroidery floss, hot glue.
Supplies
- Felt (1- 1”x 5” strip; 19 petals: 6 small, 6 medium, 7 large; 2 leaves)
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun, glue sticks
- Embroidery needle
- Embroidery floss
Step-by-Step Directions
Step 1:
Fold long felt strip in half, length wise, glue along edge. Cut into roll all the way down strip. Roll strip, adding 5 to 6 dots of hot glue to hold.

Step 2:
Add strip of glue to bottom edge of first small petal. Layer small petals around center, overlapping each.

Step 3:
Continue layering medium-sized petals, followed by larger petals.

Step 4:
Stitch leaves using embroidery floss then attach to back of flower.

How do you make the petals? Are they just half circles?
That’s right, the petals are more or less just half-circles of felt. If you look in steps 2 and 3, you can see the shape of the individual pieces.
