School may be wrapping up for the kids, but at Creating Keepsakes Scrapbook Conventions we’re all about the learning. Whether you’re looking for techniques, new project ideas, or loads of tips and tricks, you’re sure to find a variety of options to fit your style. I asked several of our popular teachers to share a little bit about one of their favorite classes they teach. I hope you enjoy this inside perspective on their classes.
Latest & Greatest
taught by Shelby Dredge from embellish IT!
If you have never taken a class from me, you are missing out! This class always has four 12×12 layouts which vary in color & design. The kits are always perfect and pieces are already cut to size, so you spend the hour learning tips and techniques and completing the layouts instead of spending the majority of the time cutting papers to specific sizes. The class always has the latest products from manufacturers like BasicGrey, Simple Stories, Echo Park, Graphic 45, and Bella Blvd. The class changes almost every show to ensure the projects are using the most current available products. The best thing about the class besides learning so many ideas, tips, and techniques is having layouts that you actually love & use!
Scrap On A Dime
taught by Kim Mock from Keller’s Creations
This is our third year teaching Scrap On A Dime at CKCs, and they have become such a hit that I’m adding extra slots of this class at most of the remaining shows in 2012! Why are these so popular? First, the class kit makes at least 12 layouts. We give you ideas on turning these layouts into 24 layouts in a snap. But, the value of this class is way more than the supplies in the class kit…it’s the info you receive that will save you money for the rest of your scrappin’ life! I give money saving tips on ribbons, papers, and photo printing. I talk about memorabilia from trips, especially Disney. I talk about ways to use up your scrap box, ways to donate supplies, and ways to make money with your scrap stash. I teach you how to get more pages done in less time. See why it’s such a popular class?? I hope to see you there soon!
For the Art of It
from Lickety Split Scrapbooks
We, who love to scrapbook, are always on the lookout for new, inventive ways to embellish our pages. Lickety Split Scrapbook’s For the Art of It class introduces you to the use of faux leather, burlap, metal, and mulberry flowers with a pre-cut metal giraffe to enhance your pages. The metal items are ready to be embossed and inked, then nestled among the flowers on papers designed by Lickety Split Scrapbooks for stunning results!
from The Paper Loft
I love teaching our “Totally Awesome” 2012 class. We teach a ton of techniques including banner making, double matting, and fussy cutting. The class is very fast paced because we make eight layouts in one hour. The class uses our “Easy Breezy” collection and the colors are wonderful – yellows, blues, and cream. If you are familiar with The Paper Loft you know we don’t do pastel colors. Well, this is as pastel as The Paper Loft will ever get!! In the class we take three of the six accessory sheets available in the collection to give the layouts themes of love, family, and home. We are also offering a ten page mini-album class with a camping theme called “Camping Trip.” Our last class, “Crazy for Cards,” is for those scrapbookers and card makers who have lots of scraps saved. We talk about and show you how to use those scraps to make cards.
If reading this fun information about a few of the CKC classes has you dying to take one or more then hop on over to the CK events page and check out the 2012 locations. I’d love to see you at a CK Scrapbook Convention, so make sure to put the online registration date for the convention you’re attending on your calendar. I’d hate to have you miss the chance to purchase tickets in advance.
See you soon!
