Whether summertime means road trips or camping, picnics or BBQs, to your family, we know that for scrapbookers it also means taking lots of photos. And the July/August 2012 issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine has 394 solutions to take and scrapbook those photos in style.
Summer Scrapbooking Solution: Stitch It
Add a little stitching to your layout, like CK Dream Team member Linda Barber did on this issue’s darling cover layout. Just a little stitching here and there will add a touch of texture to make your summer memories pop.
Be sure to take a look at our bonus online content for this issue–it’ll blow you out of the (pool/lake/ocean) water!

My husband and I just bought our first house and moved in this month so this summer we will be consumed with taking our blank canvas new construction house and turning it into a home; lots of pictures to scrap of room transformations!
Just wanted to know if there is a problem with the Jul/Aug sketch download. I can’t seem to get it.
I plan to scrapbook an upcoming camping trip and my beach photos with all my friends!
All sorts of fun kid stuff. My kids are taking the Kidding Around 3 class over at Big Picture classes so we’ll see what cool prompts and fun activities we’ll do and then put in our Smashbooks
I plan to scrapbook our upcoming summer vacation to upstate New York!
I plan to scrapbook all the priceless moments with my 18 month old grandson!
We just completed the Panama Canal Cruise, so I will be busy scrapbooking our wonderful adventure.
I plan to scrapbook all out Beach moments!
I plan to scrapbook trips to the cottage, trips to the fair, a trip to Niagara Falls, and just all of those everyday ordinary moments that make life so great!!
I am looking forward to capturing out family vacation to Door County. I just got the Hello Summer paper line to use!
We are taking a trip to North Carolina in July and a trip to the Chicago area in August to visit family so I will have loads of new pictures to scrap.
I have already started planning pages for our camping and road trips that we take each summer. I also am going to work on putting everyday life pages together, just so the kids can remember how we used to run around like crazy people one summer starts.
I am going to be with my adorable grandson for the summer. We plan on doing everything possible…and that includes the zoo, children’s museum, story hour at the local library, early morning walks, and plenty of ice cream! This is what life is all about!
I plan on scrapbooking our little adventures in town. So many wonderful new places opening up and time to embrace our lovely little city. I really look forward to spending more time outdoors.
picnics of course, beach time, camping, eating ice ream..
I will be playing catch up on scrapping. I just finished my granddaughters First Year scrapbook. Now back to my 23 yr old son’s scrapbook that I put on hold…and maybe, just maybe get to the 20 yr son’s pictures organized by date. And then there are the gardens…….
Quiet summer – not a lot of plans. But so much scrapping to catch up on! Years worth!
Scrapping whatever I find time for from a heritage book on the women in our family going back to 1850 to baby shower gifts – 1st year baby albums and grandparent books for the 1st time grandparents. Love making a book for new grandmas so that all they have to do is peel the tab and attach the picture. Could use all the inspiration and layout ideas I can find to get this all done. Thanks for the chance to win
We are traveling by car with our 6 year old, 18 month old and 3 month old to Quebec City….where the youngest will meet his Grandparents and we will have him baptized in a very old church. So lots of pictures on that road trip! We are planning on driving through Canada to get to Quebec and then coming home via the USA!!
Then we will be going to hang out with my sister at their summer lake house and there the cousins will have tons of fun playing in the sand and water!
I will have a lot of scrapbooking to do when I get back so lots of ideas would be helpful!
Enjoy your summer!
I will be spending some time in a wonderful fruit-growing community. I can’t wait to grab the camera and take pictures to remember our holiday by. And of course, I’m setting a goal to having the album done before the end of summer! Have a wonderful, sun-filled summer everyone. Enjoy each minute.
An easier question to answer is “What won’t I be scrapbooking this summer”! I have some catching up to do on my 14 year old daughter and 18 year old son’s albums. My son will graduate high school next week. Camping with my family, our family reunion, my mom turned 75 today, so big celebration there. So much to scrap so little time. The more ideas I get the better off I will be.
I plan on scrapping our almost three week long trip to my friend in USA. There will definitely be lots and lots of photos from that trip.
I love to go horseback riding and taking pictures with the horses to scrapbook. My little puppy Leo is always fun to take pictures of. I can’t wait to scrap those! I’m going to go visit my dad over July 4th. I get to see him once a year. I plan on scrapping pictures of us spending quality time together. We both love working with flowers. They make great summer scrapbook pages! Thanks for this chance to win your free copy. I want to see more! Sherry from Pa.
I’ll be capturing our camping trip later this summer, but we’ve also had some adventures the past weekend going to fiber (yarn) activities – my little one got to pet a sheep!
I’ll be capturing our summer beach trip, the boys’ sports camps and game design camp, swim lessons, and more.
I plan to capture all the fun moments at the beach and by the pool!
Three major things will be scrapbooked from this summer. First, we just moved to our very first acreage last fall and we are enjoying all the changes of the seasons! I am madly capturing the local flora & fauna and am looking forward to making some wonderful scrapbook pages of it all! Second, my eldest daughter is graduating from high school next week! You can be sure there will be some pages with photos and journalling of this event! Third, we have lots of family coming to visit this summer – all the grandparents as well as an aunt & her family – and so we’ll be photographing the fun, including lots of sight-seeing around our beautiful new home! Thanks for the great magazine and the contest!
I plan to scrapbook family camping, summer softball and hopefully a trip to my Happy Place – Disneyland
