Have you wondered what happens at a Creating Keepsakes Scrapbook Convention (CKC)? Then let’s answer that question for you: Lots!!!
How’s that for an answer? Really, there is a lot that happens—classes, shopping, drawings, crops, contests, and more. I thought you might enjoy seeing rather than reading, so here are a few photos showing the fun, creativity, and scrapbooking you’ll find at CKC.
Shopping
We take shopping very seriously—the line starts forming at least 30 minutes before the doors open.
You’ve got lots of stuff—we know that—but rolling totes can become hazards on the shopping floor. To help you out we provide a Tote & Stroller Check where you can leave your possessions and add to it as you shop during the day.
Classes
CKC Classes show you new techniques, get you playing with product, and have you creating projects that you just need to add photos to complete.
Open Crop
The Friday Celebration Crop is host to the SEI Beach Party contest where prizes are awarded to one table and one or two individuals with creative decorations. You know your scrapping skills increase when you wear beach attire, right?
Photo booths are the rage these days and the perfect way to capture the fun times at CKC. You’ll find photo backdrops in the crop and in the lobby. Say cheese!
We love a good contest, and this year at both the Friday and Saturday night crops we’re playing Musical Scrapbooking. Tables that participate are given identical supplies, the music starts, and when it stops you pass the layout to the next person who starts scrapping when the music starts. It’s a fun way to jumpstart your creativity, plus there are prizes!
Prizes
Paper Crafts magazine’s special issue Cool Tools plays a major role in drawings at the Friday and Saturday night crops. Several manufacturers featured in the Cool Tools special issue donated prizes that we give away at the crops along with a copy of this must-have magazine. Winner, winner, winner!
The attendees who purchased tickets online receive a special card, Punches for Prizes. When completed, this card enters them in a drawing for a prize package comprised of items from each exhibitor featured on the Punches for Prizes card. And completing the card is easy! Shop at all but two locations, fill out the information on the back, and drop it in the drawing box at the Information Desk no later than 4:00 pm on Saturday. You could be the next Punches for Prizes winner!
Find a CKC Near You
Now that you’ve seen the fun, check out our web site (www.ckscrapbookevents.com) for a location near you. You won’t regret spending a weekend scrapping, especially if you bring along your best scrappin’ friends. See you soon!
