With summer in full swing, ’tis this season to be traveling, making memories, and taking the photos to prove it all happened. Sometimes the bunches and bunches of photos we scrapbookers end up with can be a bit overwhelming, right?
I’m Jeana, visiting today from the Silhouette America blog. I brought with me one of my favorite tips for scrapbooking all of those fun summer vacation photos: using divided page protectors to really make it quick and easy.
Summer Vacation album by Jeana Goodwin for Silhouette America.
To keep your albums organized, chock-full of photos and still fun to look at, start by creating a 6″ x 12″ title page. This can include the day of the trip, city you visited, etc. I created my title page in just minutes using the Silhouette CAMEO to cut the title and fun little tag.
Then, on the reverse side of that title page, write or type the happenings of the event you want to remember. If you have photos to support them, you can add a cute numbered tab so the corresponding photo on the opposite page can be easily recognized.
Finally, use some fun patterned papers and cut-out shapes from the Silhouette online store to add some visual resting space among the page of photos. Fill as many photo page protectors as you need for that event; then start the next event with a new 6″ x 12″ title page and repeat.
Have a great summer, and happy scrapping!

Such a cute layout! I too think that Rothenburg is charming! I loved that little place. Thank you for sharing.
Great ideas — thank you!!!
Love the album idea, Jeana! I’ve used a few divided page protectors in full albums, but I really should use your idea (and my Silhouette, of course) to speed up a mini album.
Beautiful layout!

Very cute! Can you please tell us what type of album this is? I like that it’s 3 ring and I have a hard time finding those. Also, what type of divided pages did you use? I like them! Thanks!
Where do you get divided 12×12 page protectors?
This couldn’t be more timely. My family came back from an European cruise and I am stumped at how to start a trip of this magnitude. LOVE the ideas of divided page protectors for each country but I have other pages to include and not sure what to do – I have things like ‘friends’, ‘on the ship’, activities, etc. I’d also love some tips on how to wade thru 500+ photos from a single stop of the ship! Yowza!!
What an amazing idea! Why have I never thought of this? I have TONS of pictures and always feel overwhelmed when trying to put all of my pages together. What a fabulous idea to get those pictures into an album and STILL make it look like my own scrappin’! Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much for this! Can’t wait to get to the store and buy some of the albums like this!
