September/October 2012 issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine

Insider Info #1: Divisible by Ten

All six featured articles and nearly all eleven columns in this issue have ten tips or ideas in them for your scrapbooking inspiration and instruction. Several favorite columns, including CK Sketches and Tips & Tricks, have been expanded to make sure they fit ten ideas in each!

One feature article, “Terrific Tips from 10 Fresh Faces”, showcases projects from ten talented, never-before-published scrapbookers with scrapliftable tips for each. Several of these inspiring projects were found from fans sharing their layouts on our Facebook page, including this one from Kathleen Skou.

The editors had a great time finding these Fresh Faces to inspire your scrapbooking. We’re always on the lookout for never-before-published projects, so please share yours on our Facebook page, Club CK, or via email at editorial@creatingkeepsakes.com.

Insider Info #2: Little Monsters

Two of the articles in this issue have monsters in them as design elements: “Back from the Dead” (which gives you 10 create ways to “reanimate” older supplies) on page 50 and “The Scrapbook Monster Mash” (which shows you 10 creative ways to mix your supply stash for fun scrapbook results) on page 63. These adorable little monsters were created by two talented contributors!

The downloadable “Monster Mash” accents were drawn by CK Dream Team member Suzy Plantamura. Print them to embellish your classic scrapbook pages or download them to decorate your digital scrapbook layouts.

The “Back from the Dead” monsters were created by CK contributing writer Deena Boese.

Didn’t they do a great job?

  1. Steffanie S says:

Besides the must-have items like adhesive and paper trimmers—I really find that I love a good versatile border punch. My all time favorite is the Threading Water punch from Fiskars. I use it all the time!

  2. Lana says:

My #1 item is my Cricut. Could not live without it! Thanks for a chance to win! Just found your site and love it! Very inspirational!

  3. Wow, that is a difficult thing to pick one product out of my top ten. I am such a product junkie. I would say that as long as I have paper, trimmers, adhesive and my punches, one thing that I use on every LO and card I create is GLITTER! I have to add some on each project somewhere. It may be in the form of Stickes, or some loose glitter stuck on with glue, sparkly embossing powder or whatever, but I can count on one hand the number of items that have left my craft table with out a little sparkle somewhere. It’s that perfect finishing touch!

  5. Melinda Wilson says:

Thickers would be on my Top 10 list!

  6. Susan says:

I would have to put cutting dies on my list!

  7. This is a tough question! I think I’ll have to say ink pads…they transform plain cardstock into art…whether by themselves, on the edges, or with stamps.

  8. Victoria in Ohio says:

I always add buttons and ribbons to my pages— always! Love it!
