Howdy, trend seekers. You might say this month’s trend is as sweet as honey, and Creating Keepsakes contributing writer Mou Saha is here with all the buzz!

Thanks, Megan. I’m here to discuss all things hexagon. Simply put, a hexagon is a geometric shape with six equal sides. Since hexagons fit together without any space between them, bees use them to make their honeycombs and, for many years, quilters have used them (a.k.a, honeycomb patterns) to make beautiful designs. These days, hexagons are making a comeback with a more modern, hip twist. Hexagons are everywhere!
You’ll find hexagons in fashion…

And here’s my take on this trendy shape…

“Where Did the Summer Go?” by Mou Saha. Supplies: Patterned paper and epoxy stickers: Die Cuts with a View; Mini alpha stickers: Glitz Design; Stamp: Paper Smooches; Date Stamp: K&Company; Ink: Stampin’ Up!; Gesso, journaling pen, and pastel pencil: Faber-Castell; Other: Thread, India ink, and washi tape.
I decided to create a handmade hexagon background, as well as add a few hexagons to my photograph. I love the pop of color it adds without overpowering the page. I hope you feel inspired to apply hexagons to your designs. What ideas do you have for using this trend?

Thanks for the trendy inspiration, Mou. I hope readers will put a hex on their pages, so to speak, and give this look a try on their designs.
Cheers!
