Weekly-Warm Up: Make a Mini Book

Welcome to a new week, fellow scrapbookers!  I hope you had a great weekend and are looking forward to this new week.

I thought I’d start this week off by sharing with you a mini book I am currently working on. Seeing it, my scrapbook buddies all say: “Oh I see you are working on a smash book!”. In reality it isn’t a real smash book given that I used a Fancy Pants Brag book as the base, but it is a smash book in the sense that it’s a mixture of many things in one book.

This mini book is a scrapbook in the old fashioned sense of the word. A tactile journal of my journey whilst buying a new home. It is my thoughts on the drawn out process of purchasing our next house, a mish-mash of inspiration for decor direction I am wanting to explore, my architectural loves for the revocations we are planning and anything on my mind pertaining to our potential new home. But you can adopt the same idea for a trip, your summer activities, or everyday adventures.

Here’s the cover

A closer look at the cover

I love the simplicity of capturing the moments, loosely and on the fly. That is where the smash concept brought innovation to this age old hobby by making the process easier, with just a bit of tape, a pocket, a stapler, some stickers and so on. Being generic in design meant they worked well with the Fancy Pants Brag book kit too. I am enjoying creating this book immensely, it is a work in progress and something I look forward to adding to each week.

If you like this idea, try using a smash book as a planner!

Would you like to win a Fancy Pants brag book to get started on a project like this yourself? Leave a comment letting me know what kind of album you’d like to create with it by Friday, August 10. We’ll randomly choose a winner to get their very own Fancy Pants brag book to start scrapping with!

Enjoy!
