Hello, friends! I’m Erin Madsen, social media director for Die Cuts with a View (DCWV). I am excited to be a guest blogger for Creating Keepsakes today—I am continuously inspired by their fabulous scrapbooking publications.
Speaking of inspiring products, I want to share our Chalkboard Cardstock Stacks with you today. Each sheet of cardstock in a Chalkboard Stack has a surface similar to that of a classroom chalkboard. It’s perfect for all types of paper crafts, including cards, pages, banners, and more!
DIY Chalkboard Decor
In addition to paper crafts, chalkboard paper translates effortlessly to DIY home decor projects, including these two off-the-page items we completed recently: a menu board and a photo frame collage.
We encourage you to try using multiple writing mediums on the chalkboard paper. In the end, it all depends on the effect you’d like to give your finished product. Chalk is great if you want to be able to write and erase; or you can seal it in place with a fixative to make it permanent. We also love bistro markers for their range of eye-popping colors and crisp lines. In addition, be sure to try out crayons and even watercolor pencils.
Doodling on Your Scrapbook Layout
For our two-page layout below, we went with the bistro marker to give the doodles a defined, bold look, as we wanted them to complement the subject of our layout.
If you are hesitant to try doodling, don’t be. I like to sketch out my design in pencil before making it permanent as this helps me to feel more confident with the final results. Try it out soon—you’ll love it!

Erin, it is wonderful to see you here at the CK blog!! As always, I am loving all of your inspiration!! You are so awesome!!
Oh the possibilities this paper has! I love the project ideas you have as well and I can’t wait to try some. This will be a great addition for my special scrap book I’m making for my husband while he is deployed! I also see many cute cards being made from this in my near future to send over to our troops! What a great alternative to some of those projects needing chalkboard paint! This paper would also go great with my handmade journals! Thanks!
