With school starting back up, I feel like a kid in a candy store every time I walk by a school supply shopping aisle. I mean, there are pencils, glue, markers, notebook papers and more—it’s a scrapbooker’s dream! Gosh, they are just packed with paper-crafty potential, and those back-to-school sales make them even more enchanting!
Hi, I’m Teri Anderson, one of the Go-to Gals from Paper Crafts magazine, and today I’m sharing a few ideas for handcrafted teacher gifts that express your appreciation for educators—and take advantage of those mounds of school supplies you bought when they were on sale for too-good-to-be-passed-up prices.
Teacher Gift Idea: School-Friendly Decor
This little frame is perfect to put in your house to celebrate the first day of school or to give to a favorite teacher to decorate her classroom with.
To make it, I removed the frame’s glass and replaced it with paper. Then I attached actual pencils onto it using hot glue. I finished it with paper, stickers and die-cut borders.
Teacher Gift Idea: Fancy-Schmancy School Supplies
Home—er, classroom—decor not your thing?
Well, consider decorating picking up some of those other school supplies and saucing them up with your scrapbook supplies to make a fun gift for a favorite student or teacher.
I wrapped patterned paper and a die-cut border around the glue bottle here, and then I decorated a panel of paper and tied it on the crayon box with string.
A set of pencils also makes a nice gift! I wrapped a die-cut border around a pile of pencils and simply added string and stickers to it.

Super cute ideas! My kids are all out of school but I’m in charge of coming up with a ‘little somethin’ for the teachers during Appriciation Week. Good ideas. Thanks.
The ideas made me smile, as I am a retired teacher.
