Scrapbooking From the Inside Out: Capturing Your Inner Journey

Say the word Journey and you’re sure to think about the trips you’ve taken and the great

adventures you seek. What about your inner expeditions? What emotional journeys have you been on to get to where you are today?

We’ve all come a long way from the children we were to become the women we are now. The path to your current life may have been easy or (more likely) it may have been filled with twist and turns. There’s a lot to be learned about your own strength and resilience by taking a look at the distance you’ve traversed, and a lot to look forward to as you plan your next leaps and bounds.

Check these out these layouts using the JOURNEY kit from the Scrapbooking from the Inside Out design team and this month’s guest designer Stacey Michaud – and make sure to look for the symbolism in each layout.

Design Team Coordinator Melissa Elsner’s introspective page is a message to herself about the bravery it takes to move forward in life. Her symbols include a key image and strips of paper and washi tape staggered like steps.

Stacey Michaud, this month’s guest designer, created this LO using kraft circles in her symbolism describing how her life has come full circle…a circle is a path too, after all. She envisions her inner child spinning and laughing, free and happy.

Diana Brodeur has been on a path toward a healthier life and like many of us, has had her ups and downs. Remembering her past accomplishments helps her plan for future successes.

Jen Matott uses the balloon and birds embellishments in the kit to help tell her story of her journey toward self acceptance…moving up, moving forward but like all of us, a work in progress.

Mary Jo Rhoda explores her journey of faith, from her Catholic upbringing to her doubts and questions, to being able to impart a sense of safety to her children and herself through faith.

What inner journey makes you most proud?

Sue D says: My inner journey would also be a faith journey. An author once wrote about a golden thread through her life where she could feel God at work in her life. I feel the same way.

Our inner journeys are the longest ones we ever take. They are also, for the most part, solitary. Sometimes just being on the journey is all… sometimes the place where we arrive, although not the one imagined, is just where we need to be. I am really happy to have scrapbooking in my life to help me stay on course!

Love the vibe of this kit. Thanks for the chance!

  3. Kirsten says:

Probably the inner journey to control my anger. Not sure if I’m ready to scrapbook that one though!
