– meditation, prayer, therapy, self-help books, quiet contemplation, talking to a friend…but have you thought about using our wonderful craft to find your way to your core?

Mindfulness sounds esoteric, but it’s really just a psychological or spiritual way of defining being attentive, aware and thoughtful. This theme brings to mind how we find our center, explore our motivation and expand our consciousness.

Check these out these layouts using the MINDFULNESS kit from the Scrapbooking from the Inside Out design team – and make sure to look for the symbolism in each layout.

Design Team Coordinator Melissa Elsner explores the concept of being ‘in the moment’ on her LO. Her design floats in the middle of her page in an ethereal way, centered and focused. I love the long title and the message to herself – stay in this moment and take the opportunity to enjoy what was once only a dream…

Diana Brodeur celebrated and acknowledges her new found ability to balance her desire to care for others with self-care. She grounds her LO with earth tones and a layered yet centered visual approach – so meaningful!

Jen Matott centers her LO as well and creates a misted, artsy piece about being invited by her brother to walk to raise money for breast cancer research. Awareness takes many forms – breast cancer has impacted members of Jen’s family and the world at large, so Jen’s awareness is internal and external.

Mary Jo Rhoda, like many of us, is pulled in many directions as a wife and mom, and enjoys the challenge and the value of being with her family. She has become aware of her desires for a life in the working world once more in the years to come. Asking questions of ourselves is the first step toward our future. She uses frames and quotes to surround her thoughts on paper.

Kate Vickers creates another beautifully centered LO with a gorgeous cut and folded lotus design symbolizing balance. She wishes she could turn her mind off once in a while to avoid creating worry where there needn’t be. I can relate…can you?

I need to be more present with my DH… So often we just sit side by side on our computers, communicating with people on the internet rather than with each other!

  2. Jenny McGee says:

I like the above one. Being present in the moment when with kids or husband or anyone. Not focus on the computer. Thanks for a chance to win a great kit.

  3. charlene says:

Love these pages and this kit!

  4. Kim H says:

wonderful inpsirations, thank you for sharing them. I think it would be calm. to take some time to just sit and relax, even for a few mins (we have a new baby and its hard to do anything for yourself anymore lol)

  5. Lynda says:

What awareness would I like to bring to my inner world? That is such a hard question for me to understand. I guess I would like to understand better why I sometimes act the way I do…

  6. Jackie Ciombor says:

The layouts and topic were very thought-provoking. Kate Vickers’s layout “don’t think so much” really spoke to me about how I scrapbook. I tend to analyze and agonize over every aspect of my layouts. Kate’s title reminded me to be present to and simply enjoy the creative process in making each layout. After all, scrapbooking is supposed to be FUN! I hope that by not overthinking my layouts they will be more authentic and reflective of who I am.

  7. Carmen says:

I’d like to create a page that says “don’t worry”

  8. Maria says:

I love the colors of this kit!

  9. Laurie says:

Thanks for the reminder – I seldom do LOs about “me” – and I think I should start!

  10. I need to be more mindful of others! But, keeping in mind MY self, and being true to myself, at the same time is a challenge.
    Thanks for the chance!

  11. Jo~Anne ( sixtyschild) says:

Oh I adore those colours and the LOS are fabulous, I need to be more mindful of my inner harmony, of creating more awareness of my own spirtual, physical, family and health balance and how they all interconnect with each other.
Thank you for the opportunity to be able to create with such a harmonious kit!!!

Beautiful layouts…I need to be more mindful of keeping my inner peace!

  13. Beatrice Lawson says:

I love these intimate self-exploratory layouts. I am really not good at them, as I like to scrap the good and happy memories… I think I need to remind myself more often that even the worst most painful moment is followed by a good one, and that even in the midst of pain we can find beauty. It’s hard to think positive like that on a daily basis after six long years of chronic illness, but it is true that we still manage to laugh and find joy. I would like to celebrate those little moments more.
