A New Year full of Inspiraton!

Natalie McConnell, Editor

So, the first weeks of 2013 have passed, and I am already desperately trying to hold on to my resolutions, not the least of which is creating something that resembles livable space out of my second bedroom. I chant my mantra daily: “I can do this, one stroke of Modge Podge at a time!”  (and I pray I’m not the only one out there starting to talk to themselves!) But, I have devised a plan for me and everyone looking to complete projects (big or small) this year…

1. Put a time limit on finding inspiration!

Don’t get me wrong – finding inspiration is great! I found this fun project on Pinterest that would be perfect for my room. Find a poster big enough for your chest-of-drawers; adhere using Modge Podge; use a knife to outline the drawers.

However, I need to put a time limit each day or week and then close my computer and say, “Now let’s do this thing!” Otherwise it will never get done.

2. Do Something!

If you are anything like me, I make a list of everything I need, but then the trick is doing something with the list. Prioritize what you need first, then go and buy the materials.

3. Make Time

Don’t hold your breath waiting for time to be handed to you on a silver platter. You need to schedule out some craft time and then stick with it! Even an hour or two every week will make your project happen!

Whether it is a big project or something as simple as adding pegs for a coat hanger, this is the year to make your project dreams happen!

Good luck to all of you in your New Year’s resolutions! Don’t be overwhelmed and just take it one step at a time! I will keep you updated on my room!

Happy Creating!

I paid for a subscription to Creating Keepsakes and mailed in a check for $19.97 on August 15, 2012. I haven’t been receiving a Creating Keepsakes magazine and now today I receive a letter stating that this is my last chance to receive the magazine at only $25.91 for 2 years. What ever happened to my subscription that I paid for in August. I’ve been a subscriber to the Creating Keepsakes magazine for years. My check#5530 for $19.97 was cashed and cleared my bank account so could you please research this for me. I can’t seem to find a telephone number to call your company not on any of the materials in the mail nor online so this is the best way I felt I could get in touch with you. Thank you.
