Introducing Creative Spaces Vol. 2

Megan Hoeppner, creative editor

This is a big, big day for me. For months now (since before leaving on maternity leave back in June), I’ve been working with the Creating Keepsakes magazine team on a near and dear project—Creative Spaces Vol. 2. Yes, after the success of the first version, we’re back with a second volume. And this one promises to be twice as nice. Isn’t the cover pretty? That incredible space belongs to Amy Yingling, a very talented friend of mine. Check out her crib springs inspiration board—oh baby, that’s a fun idea!

And the cover is just the beginning. There are so many wonderful craft spaces inside—everything from crafting closets to a craft houses (belonging to Mark Montano). (Yes, you read that right. It does say HOUSE.) No matter the amount of space you have available to you, you’re sure to find ideas to fit your needs.

Mark Montano, of TLC's While You Were Out and the Big-ass Book of Crafts book series, spends his creative time in this cute craft house.

This issue provides ideas for storing just about every crafting supply. Here’s an idea of just some of the solutions you’ll find in the issue.

A look of some of the storage solutions available in this issue.

These ideas are coming to you straight from those who are passionate about crafting. Friends of mine in the crafting industry who have kindly welcomed us into their homes for a special tour and look inside their creative worlds. And the fun doesn’t end there. Well known crafting companies have also opened their doors to us, providing even more inspiration! The following friends are part of Creative Spaces Vol. 2:

Here’s a look at just a few of the ideas you’ll find inside this issue.

Stacy Julian, known for her inspiring online education community, Big Picture Classes, takes this awesome alphabetical approach to her letter storage.

Heather Bailey, a leading fabric designer, invites us into her brand new and beautiful studio. This is just a taste of what’s in store.

Melissa Phillips, known for her attractive, shabby-chic design style, keeps some of her supplies in a grandfather clock (cool!), including this cheerful basket of fun!
