Bikes in Winter

Kerri Miller, Managing Editor

I’m passionate about, dare I say addicted to, bikes of all kinds. I love to ride and in warmer weather my co-workers will often see me decked out in my cycling gear heading out to our local hills during my lunch break. Unfortunately, the weather this winter has not been cooperating so I’ve been in a bit of a biking lull.

So until the sun shines a little brighter and the weather decides to warm up a bit, I’m satisfying my itch with looking at pretty bikes from CHA. I noticed that the bikes this year have a more vintage vibe to them.

Here are a few of my favorite finds:

BasicGrey (Hipster collection)

I love the bike icon in this collection but even more, I love the color combination of orange, cream, brown and teal.

Carta Bella Paper (Well Traveled collection)

This journaling square with a bike and Einstein quote was a favorite find of mine. I’m itching to use it in a project.

Jillibean Soup (Irish Farm House Soup collection)

This collection is so cute and has great colors. The entire collection is very vintage and very lovely.

Do you think I could deck my road bike out in decorative tape like My Mind’s Eye did with the cruiser found at their booth?

Here’s hoping for blue skies and warm weather!

Kerri

P.S. What icons are you seeing in the scrapping world that have you excited? I’d love to hear.

Love this post! I recently purchased a very inexpensive acrylic bicycle stamp and it’s one of my favorite images. I didn’t realize that it was such a popular image in the scrapbooking world!

I, too, have noticed more bike images this year. I am also a “biker” and am so glad to have something new on the horizon. Am I the only one who’s tired of butterflies on EVERYTHING? I probably am…. I’ve noticed lots of printer’s block images like “&” and “@”and “}” and “[“. I like them and vintage images seem ever more popular. Find me a vintage butterfly and I might even use it. ;-)

Lucy you could not have said it better, I too am tiered of seeing butterflies on everything. I am a biker as well and I would love to see more and more bikes, of different styles and shapes on paper, boarders, you name it!

Love the bike! I still like cupcakes on stuff, even though that was a bit ago. And confetti seems to be big…although maybe I’m just noticing it more.

When I saw your title I immediately thought of the bikes I saw over the weekend. These are really bikes in winter. The bikes are pictured after the snow statues.
