Creating Keepsakes digital issues – free to subscribers!

Jennifer Schaerer

So far I’ve been the one who writes about business stuff here on the blog, like changes on the team or how scrapbooking is evolving as a hobby.

But today I’ve got a not-so-secret secret about our magazine to share with you. It’s one of those things that we never meant to keep quiet, but somehow it hasn’t become well known.

Ready?

There’s a digital issue of Creating Keepsakes. Yep – every issue. And guess what? It’s free to subscribers. Free.

Here’s the really big news, though: starting with the May/June issue, you’ll find extra inspiration in the digital version that just won’t be in print – you’ll only see it in our digital issue.

That means we need to get together, right here and right now, so you know how to get into the digital issues if you’re not already doing it.

First of all, you need to be a subscriber. If you’re not, you’ll want to take care of that piece of business HERE. If you’re already a subscriber, visit our Subscriber Services page:

Visit Subscriber Services to register for digital access

From there you’ll want to click on “Manage Your Account”:

Click on "Manage Your Account" to set up access to our digital issues

And then it’s simple – enter your email address OR your account number and postal code from the mailing label on one of your issues.

Enter your email address OR your account and postal code from the mailing label on your issue

Now that your email address is set up with a password, you’ll need to find the MAGAZINES drop-down menu on our home page and access the current digital issue:

Find access to the current digital issue under the MAGAZINES drop down menu on our home page

Here’s where you need to enter your email address and password.

Once you’re in, you’ll find that it’s a lot like flipping through the pages of a…well, a magazine. Right down to the schwttt schwttt sound of the pages as you turn them.

To navigate the issue, you’ve got three choices – flip through the pages one by one, use the linked Table of Contents, or go to the thumbnail page.

See those turned down corners on each page? Click on them to flip pages forward or backward.

Notice the yellow box that appears behind the title of an article or column on the Table of Contents when you hover your mouse over it - you can click on that title to jump right to it in the issue.

Find the thumbnails icon in the upper right corner and click on it for a thumbnail view of each page in the issue

Once you're on the thumbnail page, you can click on the title of the article or column to the left or on the page thumbnail to the right.

Now that you’re enjoying the current issue (which happens to be March/April and is just starting to hit newsstands and mailboxes), here’s the very best part: you also have access to the past year of issues in our archive! Just go to the toolbox in the upper right corner of your screen:

Find the toolbox icon in the upper right corner and click on it

Click on ARCHIVES to access digital back issues

Once you’re on the toolbox screen, click on ARCHIVES and voila!

Click on any issue for digital access

See? Easy Peasy!

I’m really excited to have you join us in the digital inner circle, and I’ll be back again soon with more tips and tricks so you can take advantage of all the amazing extra inspiration you’ll find in every issue. Stay tuned!

How do I find this extra digital content you keep talking about? Is it like some kind of easter egg hunt?

I figured out how to do all of that the hard way but soooooo love having digital issues. Nice to know cool stuff will be coming in the future.

    Hi Deb,

Will you email me at scroninger@creativecraftsgroup.com I will work with you to get you into past issues.

    Karen,

When you are reading the magazine online or through the app, the pages that are bonus content has an identifier before it starts and the page numbers include a letter – for example, 51a, 51b, 51c. Also, for Creating Keepsakes, the first time you’ll see the bonus content is in the May/June issue. So save the easter egg hunt until the end of the month :)

The digital issues sound wonderful. It would be even more wonderful if we could access them via an Ipad or Iphone app. Are there any plans for that in the future?
