Hello everyone,
With Spring just around the corner & Easter preparations underway, I thought I’d help you get a head start with a tutorial on how to make a cute stuffed bunny page accent for your next Easter and spring themed scrapbook page.
Celebrate Easter by Kim Watson: Supplies: Patterned paper, Stickers & Die cuts: Fancy Pants Designs; Alpha stickers: American Crafts, Fancy Pants Designs, Buttons: MME; Twine: October Afternoon; Doilies: Martha Stewart; Adhesive: Tombow, 3L, Eleene’s; Paper & Printer: HP; Tools: Cutting mat, trimmer & scissors: Fiskars, Piercing kit: Close to My Heart; Other: Vellum, Needle & Thread, Typewriter, Tissue paper, Cotton balls.
Stuffed Bunny tutorial:
Step#1- Cut out a bunny shape from tissue paper. Leave bottom of ‘head’ on paper-fold.
Step#2- Cut out patterned paper pieces for inside of ears & glue in place.
Step#3- Pierce stitch-holes around edge of bunny shape.
Step#4- Hand stitch with white thread.
Step#5- Pull thread tight between ears, to gather slightly.
Step#6- Before stitching completely closed, stuff lightly with cotton balls.
Step#7- When completely stitched. Draw a cute face on your little Bunny.
Step#8- Tie ears with blue bakers twine.
All done… a sweet 3D accent, perfect for my page of the childrens Easter hunt last year.
Try layering patterned paper under a die-cut title for more dimension, accented with color pops in the form of buttons.
By hiding Pink Bunny in a grassy patch along the bottom edge of the page, she anchors the photo cluster together and adds an unexpected flash of pink.
Thanks for stopping by, & Happy Thursday!
~Kim
