NSD Countdown: Scraplift Inspiration with Dream Team Member Jing-Jing Nickel

Dream Team Member, Jing-Jing Nickel

Good morning! Thanks for stopping by. I’m happy to share my scrap-lifted inspiration with all of you.

My layout takes its inspiration from You are My Happy Day by Christa Uttley.  There are four things that I took away from the inspiration piece: the color yellow, the ribbon trims, the use of bling, and a single photo.  Not only is yellow a trendy color, it juxtaposes with the dark rich reds in the raspberries in my photo.  The ribbon trims translate very well into big banner pieces, and every project can be brightened up with a little bling.

Inspiration layout:

You are My Happy Day by Christa Uttley, as seen in the May/June 2013 issue of Creating Keepsakes.

My layout:

Too Good to be True by Jing-Jing Nickel.

On layout 1, great use of negative space. I love the window you created with the bright bunting. It’s like a little porthole for that precious little girl to peek out at us. Great job!

On layout 2. I loooooooove that fence background paper. Really lets the photo and sweet banners shine! The red border at the top is cool and the red embellishment ties into the bowl of raspberries very well . Great job. A real delight.
