With spring in the air, and the color palettes looking fresher, I thought I’d give this one a try found in my Pinterest ‘Color’ folder, for one of my first scrapbook pages of the season.
Cool, retro-inspired primary colors. There’s something about bright blue paired with funky hues of sunshine yellow, aqua and cherry red that I just adore. Plus, who can resist the image of the rainbow-colored Mini Coopers. Seriously, what’s not to love?
Here’s the result successfully worked into a boy theme, along with a free cutting file for your electronic Silhouette machine.
Hello Sunshine by Kim Watson. Supplies: Cardstock: Carta Bella Papers; All other paper, tags, chipboard, Flair, buttons, decorative bag, stencil: Fancy Pants Designs; Journal spot: Chick tags; Mist: Maya Road; Pen: Zig; Adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, Tombow; Die Cutting machine: Silhouette America; Other: Thread.
Trendy layers, with die cut accents freshened up with lots of white, made the perfect backdrop for these photos of my little guy collecting the first wild spring daisies that grow in our neighborhood.
Laying the word ‘Spring’ vertically up the side of the photo, made it less predictable. Stitching it added great texture.
Try layering different colored papers underneath your die cut card for fun results.
White underneath the ‘Hello sunshine’ tag, makes the words jump off the yellow.
Here is a STUDIO cutting file for your own personal use. Enjoy!
