Make Your Title Bold and Beautiful
Hello. This is Jana Morton. I am ALWAYS excited to see the latest Creating Keepsakes magazine. I feel like each page is packed with inspiration and I’m always on the lookout for new ways to document the everyday stories of our lives.
The latest May/June issue is loaded with ideas. As a scrapbooker, I think it is so fun to follow someone’s lead and scrap-lift their page. I love that I can follow their page exactly or incorporate their ideas into my style. The page possibilities are endless.
When I saw Jen Jockisch’s fabulous page, I knew immediately that this page was calling my name.
Wishbone by Jen Jockisch, as seen in the May/June 2013 issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine.
Her bold and beautiful title work captured my attention. I couldn’t wait to lift it. I love how she created negative space with the text and then filled it in behind with various colors of patterned paper.
Life is About Using the Whole Box of Crayons by Jana Morton. Digital Supplies:Color My Love Kit, Spiral Bound Paper No. 2, Hey Missy Kit, Word Labels Love, Scrpbbling Brushes, Notebook No. 5, and Winter Woods Solids: Katie Pertiet; Heart Brush: Ali Edwards; Feltboard Friends: Chalktalk: Patti Knox.
When I saw Jen’s page, I thought of this quote that a friend recently shared with me. I thought it would work perfectly for the theme of my page. My children love to create art just as much as I do. I adore their drawings. Each piece reminds me of how precious this stage is and gives me a glimpse into their sweet, little hearts. I frequently scan their work into the computer because I just love to have it on hand and I don’t want to ever lose it. I always enjoy creating scrapbook pages that showcase their artwork. Using Jen’s great title work, my daughter’s drawing, a fun quote, a couple of photos and a few digital accessories….well, I’ll just say that I love it when a plan comes together quickly. Jen’s title treatment immediately drew me right into the page. I encourage you to give it a try. It is such an easy and fun way of capturing the viewer’s attention.
Have fun and I look forward to seeing your work in the Club CK gallery!
