NSD Countdown: Scraplift Inspiration with Dream Team Member Stacy Cohen

Dream Team Member Stacy Cohen

Happy Wednesday! Just a few more days until National Scrapbooking Day, so I’m dropping by with more layout inspiration.

For my NSD “inspired by” challenge, I chose Shelly Jaquet’s beautiful Lucky layout to use as my inspiration piece.

Inspiration layout:

Lucky by Shelly Jaquet, as seen in the May/June 2013 issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine.

Shelly’s well-designed and colorful layout immediately caught my eye.  I love her fun spin on the current sun burst/rays trend.  She used rainbow colors for the rays and spread them across her two page spread.

I decided to use the same basic design, but I flipped it upside down and shrunk it down to fit on a single page layout. I emphasized the rainbow color palette on my layout by adding color-coordinated buttons and rhinestones to my rays.

My layout:

Run Baby Run by  Stacy Cohen. Supplies: Cardstock and pen: American Crafts; Patterned paper: Jillibean Soup; Chipboard boarder: Technique Tuesday; Letter stickers: Prima; Buttons: October Afternoon; Rhinestones: Queen & Co.; Veneer butterflies: Studio Calico; Glitter glue: Ranger; Thread: Gutermann; Ink: Clearsnap.

Thank you for the inspiration, Shelly!!

Come back later today when Dream Team Member Laina Lamb shares another inspiring layout and her take on it.
