So many albums and so little time – is that the way you feel some days? If you need to take a break from your usual scrapbook layouts consider creating your own little album or put together a mini album. Need some ideas? You’ve come to the right place as today I’m going to show you those chapters in the latest publication, All About Albums.
Mini albums come in a variety of sizes, styles, and materials. They are the perfect way to capture an event or special occasion, make great gifts, and can be bought already bound or you can bind them yourself. For example, look at Shelley Aldrich’s Disney album. She took a standard chipboard album, added a few cute doodles and photos, and voila, one mini album completed.
As an added bonus, Shelley provided her hand-drawn artwork as a free download. That means you just have to print, color, and adhere to create a cute mini album.
It seems that every time I turn around I hear the term DIY and All About Albums is a part of the do-it-yourself community with an entire chapter dedicated to these unique albums. What constitutes a DIY album? These albums are made from scrapbooking supplies and other materials and then bound in some way. Whether you use binder rings, spiral binding, stitching, or another binding option DIY albums can be anything you want.
Take a look at this adorable DIY album from Kim Watson. It looks like a camera, complete with camera strap. The best part is the album is contained inside the camera with pages that reflect the days of camera film.
And there’s a bonus for this fun album as well. Kim provided a pattern to trace and cut the design and cut files to use with an electronic cutter. Both are free downloads.
