Fall Projects for Your Weekend

Stacy Croninger – Digital Managing Editor

Hi everyone!

I’m not sure what the weather is like where you are, but in Utah it is raining and cold, much like it gets during the fall season. Good thing it is officially fall this week! And since the season has changed it seems like my crafting should as well. Which brings me to my favorite haunt for ideas – Pinterest. I found a few ideas that were calling to me and I think you’ll like them too.

Scrappy Pumpkin Fall Decor

Maybe it was the word scrappy or maybe it was the picture, but whichever it was, this project immediately caught my eye.

Scrappy Pumpkin Fall Decor from The Turquoise Home

I love this pumpkin! The creator used a piece of wood that she sanded and lightly painted white and a printed pumpkin drawing that she transferred to fabric and used mod podge to adhere to the wood. BUT, I think paper would be much simpler and I happen to have an abundance of that in my craft room. Notice that the fabric (or in my case paper) used isn’t fall or Halloween themed. That means you can use your favorite orange and green designs to create this beauty!

October 31st Free Printable

This Pinterest find had me going in a variety of directions.

Free Halloween Printable from The Diary of Dave’s Wife

First, the printable. It is so cute and well, FREE. Love projects that I can download, print, and create with. Second, that adorable banner! It’s ribbon pieces stitched or adhered over a long ribbon (or it could be jute or cord). So easy and I just happen to have ribbon on hand. Third, that pumpkin is so fun painted black with big, white dots. And the best part, I can paint it any color I want, although the black matches everything else so nicely I’ll probably stick with that.

Fall Accents

My final find was accents Mou Saha created for the Creating Keepsakes blog and they are all so clever!

Mou made a sunny sunflower from tissue paper, a festive leaf border using dies and a little stitching, there’s a cute washi tape banner, a punched journaling spot, and this paper-pieced pumpkin. So many options!

Are you feeling the need to break out your fall decor or create a few things? I sure am and I can’t wait to pull out my supplies and get creating!

What projects or layouts have you made for fall? Leave me a link – I’d love to see what you’ve been creating.

Have a great weekend!
