When scrapbooking, we often focus on the scrapbook pages, photos, journaling, and all that goes into the inside of these treasured books. But sometimes making a special cover for your prized pages is as fulfilling, if not fun.
Sharon and Brittany Laakkonen, from Prima, created a stunning album and cover for the Creating Keepsakes All About Albums special issue. The beauty of this cover is how easy it is for you to make one.
Here’s the cover:
Here are the steps:
How easy and what a beautiful end result. The canvas cover is a product from Prima that is perfect for this album. You can create a similar effect using a stamped resist (stamp a design with watermark ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder). If you’re not using fabric, you can omit the spritz step as water is not needed to spread chalk on paper.
My challenge to you – create a cover for an album using this technique or your favorite idea and feel free to share a link in the comments so I can see your creation.
Have fun creating!
