Pretty Creative Storage

Hi,

I am always looking for new storage and organization options. And when I find ideas that look great too, I’m sold! These ideas are from the Creating Keepsakes Scrapbooking Tips & Tricks: Organization Issue.

Twine or Floss Storage

Most of my twine comes on nice spools but I have a few that are loose and my floss is definitely boring. This idea of placing floss or twine on a painted spool and then storing it in a vase is brilliant and oh, so pretty! Here’s the final look:

And here are the steps to get the look.

Step 1: Paint wooden spools the color of your choice.

Loop end of floss through the spool, then wrap it around. Tie a knot in the end and secure with a stick pin.

Step 3: Place wrapped spools in clear vase.

Pretty Every Day Items

These next two ideas are perfect for the simple fact that you can find these in your home or at your local store. This first storage option is an ice cube tray that finds a new use to hold your tiny items like buttons, brads, rhinestones, and more. And if you can find a cute, colorful one like the one in the photo, bonus!

The second every day item is a jar, which I have loads of and use constantly for corraling my ribbon scraps. The twist here is the lid – a cork so you can organize small items like brads and pins. Double duty – brilliant!

What are your favorite storage ideas that reflect your personality and add a touch of beauty to your space? I’d love to hear and/or see photos.

Here’s to a pretty and organized creative area.

Well, I see some ideas here that will quickly become favorites. Love the cork top for the ribbon scrap jar. I have the ribbon scrap jar and now to figure out how to make me a cork top for it. I could put my decorative stick pins there instead of stuck in a drawer out of sight and mind. And I definitely want to put my twine on some spools and store in a pretty jar or vase. Thanks for some good ideas.

I use candle jars after I’ve burned the candle of course

Great ideas and just came at the right time as I plan on reorganizing my craft space in the new year. Thank you for the inspiration.

I have a vintage curved front maple chest of drawers and the vase and the lace jar would look beautiful on it!
