Don’t you love the texture that fabric adds to your layouts? Wendy Sue Anderson shares great ways to use fabric for a background and journaling using pens and stamps. Her Celebrate layout from September 2010 uses timeless ideas to create a stunning scrapbook page.
How to get the look:
- Iron fabric stabilizer (available from your local fabric shop) to the material to stiffen it, making it easier to write and stamp on.
- Fine-tipped pens or markers work best for writing on fabric because they release less ink, which means there is less ink to spread through fabric fibers as a “feathered” or “bleeding” look.
- Don’t worry about the ink on the fabric looking perfect-imperfection is part of its charm.
