Scrapbook How To: Paint a Background and Title

Embrace your paint colors and create a cohesive background at the same time by masking off a design on your layout. Lisa Dickinson painted wide strips of color over cardstock circles to create her eye-catching design for Budget-Friendly Scrapbooking. Give this a try using flowers, stars, or any other shape you can punch out.

In addition to masking off a background, you can mask off a title, which opens up a number of design possibilities. Try filling your empty title space with glitter or another color of paint. Because you masked first, the new color won’t compete with your background stripe.
