Chalkboard Art!

Dream Team Member, Maggie Holmes

I’m obsessing over the chalkboard art that seems to be all the rage right now! I want to use it for everything!!

I have a large chalkboard that I created for our entry table and it has been fun to play around with it and try my hand at lettering my own messages!

Naturally I have also been searching things online that would help me to create digital pieces that have the chalkboard feel to them as well. My son is getting baptized and I created his invitation with some of the fonts I found and a free chalkboard background download!

Here are a couple of my pins that list great fonts to use for the chalkboard look.

And also a downloadable chalkboard background!

You could use these like I did to create an announcement or you could also incorporate them into a scrapbook page as well!!

Scrapbooking Boys & Men: Hey There, Handsome!

Joannie McBride, online editor

Happy Wednesday! We’re so glad you dropped by. This week we’re spotlighting a handful of layouts featured in our latest special issue Scrapbooking Boys & Men (which hit newsstands yesterday).

Today, I am excited to share this adorable layout by Contributing Writer, Autumn Baldwin.

Not Very Big by Autumn Baldwin, as seen in the Scrapbooking Boys & Men special issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine.

This layout is featured in the Hey There, Handsome chapter, which is full of tips for getting great photos of the boys and men in your life.

Photo Tip:(featured on page 53 of Scrapbooking Boys & Men)
When you get down to a young child’s eye level, you’ll see the world from his point of view: he’ll look small while his surroundings look big. The shift in perspective will lend a sense of motion to your photo, which works well to convey a young boy’s instinct to explore the great big world around him.

Check back later today. We’ll be sharing a free download from this special issue!
