Hi everyone,

This week our latest publication goes on sale – Scrapbooking Boys & Men. This special issue is full of ideas for capturing the men in your life. Each day this week we’ll showcase a layout from Scrapbooking Boys & Men with a fun wrap up on Friday, so make sure you come back each day.

Scrapbooking Life’s Lessons

Contributing Editor, Deena Boese

Hey CKers! Can you believe the school year is almost over?!? It just seems like yesterday we were picking out new school outfits, gathering school supplies, and anxiously awaiting the first bus ride of the year. Whether your kids (and you) are excited or a little sad to see the year draw to an end, be sure to snap some photos and document your emotions about the day. Then give your kids a turn! Ask them an open-ended question and record their answers word for word on a layout as I did here. I asked my daughter what she learned in Kindergarten (expecting to hear things like math, spelling, etc.) and was surprised when she shared with me a deeper glimpse into her experiences in the classroom.

I Learned by Deena Boese, as seen in the may/June 2013 issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine.

If you have older children, give them a voice too! Let them pick out their favorite photos from the school year and compile them in a mini 4×6 album. Photo on one side, a short lesson learned on the other. Super simple and a great way to quickly record all those memories before they are forgotten.

Don’t have any school-aged children? Record your own LIFE lessons learned so far. What a great keepsake that would be for your loved ones!

I’ve included this 4×6 mini album set that you can download for free here. Use to record lessons learned, feature a different open-ended question, or simply use the pages as journaling blocks for a mini album creation all your own.

I hope you enjoy the last few days of school and are looking forward to capturing memories that matter. Happy Friday!
